Barney Rubble at AOAA: A Rock-Crawling Challenge
Big boulders, careful lines, and hardworking skid plates on one of AOAA’s rocky trails.
At Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area in Pennsylvania, I took my lifted Jeep Wrangler Willys on 35-inch tires onto the Barney Rubble Trail. The rocky terrain and boulder obstacles demanded attention, and my skid plates definitely earned their keep. The video features two rock-crawling clips from the challenge. It was a reminder of why I enjoy getting off the pavement: each obstacle asks for patience, judgment, and a willingness to learn.
